WHFF Media Kit

Overview:
At the Cognitive Institute of Dallas, we are committed to helping families reconnect through the power of storytelling. We create indie films that touch on the human experience, focusing on real stories that reflect both the struggles and triumphs of Black and Brown communities. Our films are broadcast on leading streaming platforms including Tubi, Roku, Amazon Video, and aired as commercials on our own WHFF.TV network and WHFF.Radio.

We are passionate about using media as a tool for social change, amplifying the voices of marginalized groups, and addressing systemic issues—particularly the disparities that exist for Black and Brown communities in the United States.

Our mission is to build a more connected, compassionate society through storytelling, while using the platforms we’ve built to push conversations about race, equity, and social justice.

What We Do:

  • Indie Film Production: We produce and distribute independent films that explore the lived experiences of families, with a focus on stories that reflect the realities of Black and Brown people in America.
  • Broadcast & Distribution: Our films reach wide audiences via streaming platforms such as Tubi, Roku, and Amazon Video. We also create commercials that air on WHFF.TV and WHFF.Radio, reaching listeners and viewers nationwide.
  • Community Impact: Through our work, we aim to highlight the impact of systemic racism, disparities in healthcare, education, and the criminal justice system, and create a platform for discussions about racial equality.

Why Partner With Us:
We believe that media has the power to reshape perceptions, challenge norms, and inspire action. By collaborating with us, newspapers and media outlets can:

  • Highlight Critical Social Issues: Partnering with us will provide your readers with stories that shed light on disparities faced by Black and Brown communities, helping to spark important conversations.
  • Support Independent Voices: Your readership will be exposed to unique, indie voices that are often underrepresented in mainstream media.
  • Engage Your Audience in Action: Through storytelling and the power of film, we aim to create tangible change—whether it’s by fostering empathy, encouraging civic engagement, or promoting reform.

The Importance of Addressing Black and Brown Disparities:

  • Racial Inequality in the U.S.: Studies continue to show that Black and Brown Americans face significant disparities in areas such as education, healthcare, housing, and wealth. For example, Black Americans are more likely to experience higher levels of incarceration, unequal access to healthcare, and gaps in educational attainment compared to their white counterparts. We bring these issues to light through film.
  • Healthcare Access: The COVID-19 pandemic revealed deep gaps in healthcare for communities of color, particularly in terms of access to quality care, mental health services, and medical resources.
  • Criminal Justice: Systemic racism in law enforcement, mass incarceration, and the unequal treatment of Black and Brown individuals by the justice system remain persistent challenges that need urgent attention.
  • Education and Economic Inequality: Black and Brown families often experience inequities in education, from underfunded schools to discrimination in college admissions processes. These inequalities contribute to the wealth gap, limiting opportunities for future generations.

By collaborating with your newspaper, we aim to provide fresh perspectives and media coverage on these issues, showing your readers how storytelling can contribute to social justice and family empowerment.

What You Can Expect in a Collaboration:

  • Exclusive Content: Access to film previews, behind-the-scenes content, and interviews with filmmakers and cast members.
  • Publicity: Features in your newspaper highlighting our films, discussions, and events focused on racial equity.
  • Community Engagement: Opportunities to host panel discussions or community screenings to further discuss racial disparities and promote positive change.
  • Brand Alignment: As a newspaper focused on social issues, aligning with a brand like ours strengthens your position as an advocate for racial justice and amplifies your support for marginalized voices.
